Full Color prints

We are experimenting with added colors to our prints for this coming year. We have focused on an effective color scheme with 4 base colors (blue, brown, off-white, and green) that keep things simple and go with our shirt colors. We will be adding a small selection this year that utilizes a greater color scheme, which we have tested to be sure these colors go with our shirt colors as well.

Dad's US Army machete retrieved, 50 years later!

Dad's US Army machete retrieved, 50 years later!

Was invited to tour my childhood home in Midland MI which I hadn't been in in almost 50 years. The current owners, Chris and Sandra, bought the home from my folks in the 1970's. Was neat to see the upstairs bedrooms where my siblings and I had lots of fun, with the attic doors where the monsters lived.. =:l

The current owners turned over a 1945 US Army machete that was likely my father's, who served in the Phillipines. It had been in the garage since they had moved in...

Reviews, volume 1

Reviews, volume 1

Did you know many reviews on online retail websites are edited and not all accurate? I have noted many online storefronts that state things like  "over 500 positive reviews", or have a high rating, use an app for reviews that can be edited. I looked up one such review app on a website, and the storefront that pays for it can easily delete reviews, and even edit the feedback.

We don't

Our fabulous store manager

Our fabulous store manager

Our store manager Zack had been contemplating pursuing other pursuits, but we are happy to report he is staying onboard with RSC for at least another year.... that is good news for RSC and our customers, as he loves taking care of customers the way we love to. Say hi to Zack in the store soon!

Hitchhiking =:l

Hitchhiking =:l

I hitchhiked an estimated 10,000-15,000 miles in my youth. It was the best possible experience for a young person to learn about:

Our country

People

Ones self

I hitchhiked all over Michigan, between Colorado and Michigan a number of times, up the coast of California and on to Colorado, from Oklahoma to Michigan, in Florida... much sleeping by the road and backpacking as well.

When was the last time you saw a hitchhiker?  NOTE; the East village t-shirt I'm wearing in the photo was a gift from a best buddy, Corg, part of my life love of a good t-shirt.

Downtown travel patience needed

Downtown travel patience needed

Grandview Parkway, the main route along the Bay in the downtown area, will have a MAJOR reconstruction this summer, starting soon (March 13). Bottom line, it will be so nice when done, and it will create the need for MAJOR PATIENCE when travelling through and in TC this season. Please be patient, plan extra time, and we look forward to welcoming you into our new storefront.

Info on the detours and timing is here

New Design Time Soon!

New Design Time Soon!

Many of our customers can't sleep this time of year, anticipating the arrival of our new designs. We have heard of injuries from people falling off the edge of their seats... Please be careful, and seek counselling if needed.

The first of our new designs for 2024 are expected to arrive around the weekend of Feb 10.

Store Updates continue

Store Updates continue

We are working to transform and update the feel of our store. I think you will find it fresh, uplifting, and fun. So far, we have added swinging salloon doors at the office entrance, and the new changing room looks like an outhouse. Without the smell...

Holiday Season

Holiday Season

I love finding the balance between all the (required) retail sales days, and keeping the focus on what really matters. I enjoy mostly seeing people that, in the winter season, I may not see for awhile, saying hi, and seeing them happy finding gifts that make them and their loved ones smile.

Thanksgiving just passed, in the morning I wrote down 100 things I am thankful for. It was a really good exercise, try it sometime.

Hope to see you all soon!!

New Store Location!

New Store Location!

We have been tight on space for awhile, sometimes people look in the door and see there is not enough room to squeeze in... so, we have moved to a larger space RIGHT NEXT DOOR. This way there will be more room for you, our customers, room for us to expand our offerings, AND you will have no trouble finding us.

Our move is two stage; 1, move quickly while we had the opportunity (move complete), and 2, in January and February while it is quiet downtown we will remodel the store to make a warmer, more inviting shopping experience.
